A friend lives in Paris pointed out that in America when you eat your lunch at your desk, you’re applauded. In France if you eat lunch at your desk, they think “Pfft. What’s with this guy?”
‘Tis the season of burnout! 🫠 and can’t wait to have you join the Zooms! I’m just trying them out this month and then will see if I continue (some can’t make them and have requested the recorded versions I’ve included in past Present Sense editions).
For me one thing that happens is that when I have a lot to do work wise, this is when lots of new ideas come up. A question of momentum. So in moments when work is intense it can feel even more intense because my mind is thinking “must capture this now!” And I think that can sometimes feel like workaholism because you just can’t turn it off.
Totally - i also feel like the ideas are aware of limited time (only 24 hours in a day!) so rush in to be the one that will get picked and accomplished! 😅🚀
Find Peace. Keep Peace. 🎶🕊️
Biggest wish! 💗
It really is a fine line as your title points out.
Sabrina is far better at creating boundaries than I am and is actually capable of relaxation!!
I need to be more like Sabrina! 😆
You and me both!

Anyway, loved the essay!
Your friend is wise. The French know best when it comes to true living 🍷🥐🧀
Thanks for the reminder--came at a perfect time! And, I'd love to join the meditation zooms once our semester is over!
