First of all, we missed u! I hope you’re recovering… Sabrina Smith! Nice to meet u ;)

Your essay on anonymity made me think about the small ways I choose to be anonymous even during my day. Or even when choosing an anonymous name to post on substack under ;)

But as Joseph Campbell would point out , we all wear numerous masks of identity in our lives. So “anonymous” is as valid as any other.

Thank you Jolene! That title came to me in a flash ⚡️ (the essay…took a bit more ;) I learned so much in the process of researching these artists! It was helpful to know the various reasons why artists choose anonymity and the freedom and limitations it offers.

That internal struggle between wanting to be seen and the safety of staying hidden is something a lot of us deal with, especially when we've spent so long behind the scenes, helping others shine. Stepping out like this is a huge deal, and while it may seem subtle to the outside, I know it’s a meaningful internal shift. Thank you for sharing this, Sabrina!
